For most of my life, I've been a software engineer, with a nagging feeling that I had a story to tell. And recently, I've taken to expressing it. It's not that I've never drawn before, but never the way that I've recently been. These days, I rarely go anywhere without a sharpened pencil, and a scrap of paper to sketch.
I'm most comfortable with pencil and paper, but I've spent a good bit of time trying to get better with digital tools, like Inkscape and Gimp. Each day I'm getting better and better, and I'm just loving the experience.
The thing is I've always wanted to tell stories, and in the back of my mind there's the bubbling of an animated tale that I'd like to one day build. Right now it's not much more than sketches and notes, but hopefully, if I can expand my skill set a bit more, I can start to piece it together, and see it become something a bit more substantial.
It's the ideas that are keeping me going, and the colors and shapes that pass by me everyday.
